4 Day 5 Night River Rafting
On arrival at Fiddlers Creek Campsite, enjoy a refreshing swim and relax. You will be met by your guides and given a pre trip briefing on what to expect during the trip as well as a packing demonstration and safety talk. Fiddlers Creek camp is equipped with clean ablutions, hot and cold running water, flushing toilets, electricity and bar facilities. After a lovely “bush” meal (often a typical South African braai) and a good night’s rest under the stars. The following morning, after breakfast you will be allocated your boats, shown how to pack these and given an in depth safety speech by your lead guide. You will begin your 4 day adventure from the campsite with a slow paddle, with swims along the way to the lunch spot along the banks of the river. This morning will see that everyone gets used to paddling and controlling the canoes and or rafts. After an afternoon of paddling, we set up camp out in the open under the stars on the bank of the river, at a site chosen by the lead guide, for the first evening. On the river there are no showers, toilets or power points.
DAY 2 & 3 are spent on the river, paddling, swimming as well as bird watching and walking – each night camping under the stars at different sites along the banks of the Orange River. Day 4 sees an early start after breakfast which takes us to the take out point at Aussenkeher or Sjambok (depending on water level) where our transport will be waiting to take us back to the base camp where we spend the last night. After coffee and rusks on day 5 you will set out on your journey back to Cape Town.
